2021 1/4oz Kangaroo Gold Coin

Queensland Mint presents the 1/4oz Australian Kangaroo Gold Coin (2021) by the Perth Mint of Australia.

This is the latest edition of the Kangaroo gold coin issued by the Perth Mint Australia. The Kangaroo Gold Nugget bullion investment coin is popular among investors both at home and abroad due to its high quality and because it is one of the few gold bullion coins to have an annual design change.  As Australian legal tender, its weight and purity are guaranteed by the Commonwealth Government of Australia. 

Also known as an Australian Nugget, these coins were named from their original design, which featured the Welcome Stranger Nugget, the largest gold nugget found in Australia. The coin was first release in 1986 by the Gold Corporation, owned by the government of Western Australia. Because the image of the gold nugget was not widely recognizable, the coin was changed in 1989 to feature an image of the kangaroo. The coin is now commonly referred to as the Kangaroo Nugget.
